アイルランドのユニバーサルから、CD+DVDの2枚組でのリリース。見開きデジスリーヴ仕様。プランクシティは、元エメット・スパイスランドのドーナル・ラニーが、学生時代の友人でもあったクリスティ・ムーア等と共に71年にダブリンで結成したグループで、この後ボシィ・バンドやムーヴィング・ハーツ、デ・ダナン等々の派生バンドを生んだ、アイリッシュ・トラッドを代表するビッグ・ネームの1つ。本作は、メンバー達自らがセレクトした72年～83年における音源をコンパイルしたアンソロジー集(CD)と、2時間に及ぶ初出未発表マテリアルを含む映像集(DVD)の2枚組。クレジット・メンバーは、ラニー、ムーア、アンディ・アーヴァイン、ライアム・オフリン、マット・モロイ、ビル・ウィーラン、ノエル・ヒル、トニー・リンナーン、ノレイグ・ケーシー、ポール・マカティア、ジョン・ドラモンド、マイク・ノーラン等々。CDは、3,4,12,15曲目が73年のファースト「プランクシティ」、2,11曲目が73年のセカンド「ザ・ウェル・ビロウ～」、5曲目が74年のサード「コールド・ブロウ～」、7,10,14曲目が79年のフォース「アフター・ザ・ブレイク」、1,13曲目が80年のフィフス「ザ・ウーマン・アイ・ラヴド～」、6,8,9曲目が83年のセクス「ワーズ＆ミュージック」、16,17曲目が81年のアルバム未収シングル。年代がシャッフルされた曲順だが、流れがよくて非常に心地好い。DVDは、72,73年のモノクロ映像がまずもって圧巻で、80,82年のカラー映像は円熟で上等。往年のトラッド愛好家は勿論、ビギナーの入門編としても適している文句なしのアンソロジー盤と思う。ともかくも素晴らしい！。DVDはPAL/R0で、PAL対応プレイヤーかパソコンで観れる。
